Dominique Nickelberry

Past-President Dominique Cash-Nickelberry currently serves as a Truancy Attendance Teacher for the Memphis Shelby County School District in Memphis, Tennessee. The school district serves over 106,000 students. In this role, she is responsible for enforcing the compulsory attendance law by investigating the causes of the truancy, conducting home visits, completing evaluations, providing interventions, and making in-house and outside referrals to school departments and social service agencies that can provide assistance to families when needed. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Education. She has 36 years of experience working with children and families as a mental health counselor with Southwest Mental Health Services, lead caseworker with Department of Children’s Services, First Grade Teacher, Lead Caseworker and Coordinator of Parent Involvement and Service Learning Programs with legacy Memphis City Schools.
