Keena Howell
Dr. Keena Howell is the Coordinator of Division of Pupil Personnel and Attendance Services serving Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland. She is an educator serving over 25 years in academic settings across grades kindergarten through post-secondary as teacher, school counselor, administrator, discipline hearing officer, pupil personnel worker, college advisor and most recently coordinator of attendance services. She is a proud graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees. In addition, she earned her doctorate degree at Bowie State University with a concentration on Educational Leadership. Dr. Howell has presented on chronic truancy at state and national conferences and her research interests include: chronic absenteeism, disproportionate practices of discipline of special education and restorative justice for all students. Dr. Howell continues to be an advocate for students, families and educators by her service on Montgomery County Education Association Board of Directors, Local Pupil Personnel Working Steering and Collaborative Committees and serving on the Executive Board of Maryland Association of Pupil Personnel as former President.
